A scout is often considered a "Jack-of-all-trades" in Wandering Ronin. He can heal people, use a bow, armor, weapons, shields, and is capable of mixing his combat load to fit each battlegame. A good captain is sure to have one scout on his team if they are available.

Ancient militaries knew that information won more battles than force, and
trained scouts to go ahead of the
armies and discover not only the lay of the land but the disposition of
enemy forces. Explorers would also hire them to lead the way on dangerous expeditions.
